One day’s Workshop for Senior Level / HODs on Process and Application of Climate Change Adaptation to Industrial Parks in Telangana

One day training program for practitioners was conducted in Environment Protection and Training Research Institute (EPTRI).  The training was attended by 15 senior officers from head office and zonal offices of TSIIC, GHMC, HMDA, TSPCB, Surbaya Jurong Consultants and EPTRI. The trainers were experts from Ifanos Concept and Planning, Buro happold, Germany and Green Infra Creations, STEP IIT Kharagpur, and Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS).

Dr. Dieter Brulez started the introduction to the training programme, which was followed by the need for CCA by Mr. Kamal from TISS. This was followed by presentation from Sebastian on Climate Change Adaptation. Post-lunch programme covered the interactive session moderated by Prof. T. Jayaraman, TISS on finance and legal aspects of CCA and institutional strengthening and capacity development required for TSIIC in order to incorporate CCA.

The Senior Manager’s / HOD’s workshop focused on

  • The need for CCA and increased resilience of industrial areas
  • How can the CRA and planning of adaptation measures be anchored practically in the working processes and what is required to ensure this?
  • What are the various types of Climate Change Adaptation measures (technical, management, governance, participation)
  • How to do Cost-Benefit Analysis for Business-as-Usual and CCA measure scenarios?
  • What could be sources to finance CCA measures?
  • How to implement CCA measures?
